  • Screwcap, 10% alc. Pale gold with a lime hue.

More toasty and lanolin filled nose than the recently tasted 05 HVD. Lime, lemon lollies, and passionfruit in the background. There is a grapefruit-like brightness on the nose.

Fresh palate, the initial impact being delivered by the bracing acidity. Good length, finishing with a supple, mouth-watering sweet and sour flavour.

Opinion: Good wine, and good to go now.

  • Screwcap, 10% alc. Building in colour; developing a brilliant clear-yellow with golden hue.

Fresh and heady aromas of lime, lanolin, toast, vanilla, and grapefruit abound.

The palate is quite high in (seemingly) natural acidity, and presents with sour lemon, lime, and lanolin, with toast in the background. The palate is not as fresh as the nose; the fruit is more subdued and lifeless by comparison.

Opinion: Not as interesting nor as vibrant as the 2006. The nose is really seductive, and gives an impression of fruit sweetness, however the palate is more sour-edged and lacks the same brightness of fruit. Perhaps further aging will yield more palate depth, but I’m concerned about the way the fruit is looking, and will drink my remaining bottles over the next 5 years.

  • Nose full of fresh lemon juice, a little bit of honey and some spring fields. The palate is total acid, with some good citrus flavours and good length. Plenty going on.

  • Ooh a bit pooey, not quite, but not as clean as the others, hay and lemons, a zing of mouthwatering acidity, not bad by any stretch, but against he others is a little weaker 91

  • A toasty, limey, honeyed delight. Drinking on Good Friday with fish, has a finish that goes on and on, I may still be tasting it when the kids are hunting for eggs on Sunday. Fabulous! Will drink well for a number of years yet. Alas, this is my final bottle. 94 or 95, length of finish says 95.
