Wine, Browns and my 55th Birthday (My Home): Lovely nose of lychees and tropical fruit. On the palate, it is very nice but finished with a classic Gewurtz bitterness than I am not fond of. Other than that, a very pretty wine.

A little bitterness shows up in the pallette and a perception of a hot wine even though the alc. doesn't seem to be that high. I prefer Celilo Gewurtztraminers made by Peter to this particular wine.

Indian food with Friends: Glass cork. On opening this showed little but after an hour or more, it really blossomed. I know this is young, but was quite surprised how long it took to open. Pale golden in color. The nose at first shows some minerals, but with air, lychees emerge. Full body with a slightly oily texture. On the palate, this is crisp with tropical notes. At first there is a Gewurz bitterness, but that too faded with an hour of air. Very respectable showing.

I dare you to find a better Gewurz for the price. Great minerality on the nose, and some weight too. Lemon curd and a little fattiness in the mouth. I mostly think of spicy foods with Gewurz, but this is worthy of the sea bass at local or Tei Tei in Dallas. Couldn't enjoy it more.

Very light straw color, almost perfectly clear. Good residual sugar, balanced by a spicy mid palate. Very nice.
