Community Tasting Notes (6) Avg Score: 90.6 points

  • This was even better than the previous bottle. Magical! Honey, beeswax, rubarbe, candied apricot, pear and lemon and nobel petroleum notes. Mid+ bodied, silky textured and extremely complex with an array of fruit, honey, minerality and tertiary aromas, perfectly balanced by the acidity and a long finish. Unbelievable value.

  • As I predicted, this wine in its flawless edition scores 2 points higher (the previous bottle which was slightly corked scored 90 and this one 92). It is a fully matured but fantastic riesling, with petrol, honey, beeswax, white truffles and candied lemon. It is mid+ bodied and has a nice fruit-minerality-tertiary aromas combination balanced by the right acidity and a long finish. A steal at € 15! I guess the distributor had this in stock since its release and has kept the same price until now. Extremely enjoyable but has to be consumed soon.

  • This wine was slightly corked, but not to the extent of being undrinkable. This fact aside, it was a gracefully aged Alsace riesling, revealing citrus fruit, white truffles, honey and petrol. Mid-full bodied with a beautiful combination of fruit, mineral and tertiary flavors, balanced by adequate acidity. Long finish. I bought these bottles at a bargain price, and fortunately I have 2 more so that I will (hopefully) be able to taste the wine without the flaw. I predict that it will score at least 1 point higher.

  • Very nice correct style of Alsatian dry Riesling, probably at its peak. It's not as complex or lush as a Grand Cru offering but complex enough and extremely good with food. Contrary to other tasters I found this extremely balanced and not excessively dry. All that said you can definitely get a lot of wines this good in the $18 range (where CT puts the average value) and it's probably a pass at the $25ish I paid for it. Good wine though.
