Very interesting! On opening, the wine was kind of sweet and candied. I thought it would need some breathing, but I kept sipping on it while cooking dinner. Then it started to get a little funky, and I was worried that the bottle was off. It kept improving through dinner though. Everything came together, and the wine is quite amazing. The acids have arrived, and the fruit has acquired a tart cherry like quality. There are hints of wild berries, lavender, cassis, fennel and leather. Finish is a bit short. Ultimately, an elegant expression of cabernet that requires lots of air to come into balance. I had similar experiences with other vintages of cabernet from Robert Keenan as well.

Drinking so darned well for a 15 year old wine. As tasty as this is, I believe the tannins may hold this Cabernet up for another 3-4 years. Based on how little we paid, this is truly a steal!

This wine totally sucked in its earlier days. It has evolved very well. Loving it at 17.

Subdued aromatics. Dark black fruit. Grippy tannins, soft and integrated. Medium finish.
