  • Thought there was some VA upon popping but it blew off in less than 10 minutes. It may have been the initial amount of acid perceived. Roses & panettone on the nose. Black cherries, cranberries, hints of pine and mint follow along. It smells festive. On the palate it is bright, acid started high but is now medium plus, solid fruit at the core, some flavors of oak but well integrated. It reminds me of Burgundy. The mouthfeel is silky smooth but well structured. Tannins are fully resolved on the mid palate and give signals of life on the finish. Medium length. Fantastic bottle. Glad I waited for this. I don't know if it will improve but it should drink this well for another 3 to 5 years.

  • Drink very well. Mature nose with rose, a few tar notes, earth. Good color with a bit of bricking. Nice palate with dark cherry, leather; a bit of acidity detracts. Unclear where this will go with age, drink up unless in a gambling mood, as the fruit seems unlikely to win out in the long term.
