a bit of mold on the cork, wine was fine, first 30-40 min was tart but pleasant tannin mid palate, surrounded by prune and dried apricot....as it opened more the tannin calmed and moved lower on the palate with nicely integrated fat ripe prune layered with dried and ripe apricot and some leather on the nose and palate, very enjoyable

The second of two bottles added as a "top-up" on a Wine Access purchase; the first one consumed 2.5 years ago I noted clearly needed time. Well it still wasn't time really: dense and inky color, brooding, oaky aroma; the one dominating note in this is wood; although there is plenty of berry fruit, the wood is prevalent and I fear detracts from the whole.

We had this after dinner on 2/15/14. It had a ripe & earthy bouquet of plum, blackberry, dusty soil and spice aromas. The palate was smooth, integrated and dry with flavors of plum, tar, spice, blackberry and mocha. 90+

Deep inky purplish red color; the nose is redolent of dark berries and intense oak; one is not surprised by the pervasive oak on the palate, along with much sweet berry fruit; certainly plenty to appreciate, though I wonder if the balance is not quite there yet.

Surprised and delighted at how well this guy held cellar over time, had to say farewell with this last one.
