Deep gold color with aromas of rich preserved lemon and beeswax with hints of buttered popcorn Palate with bright lemon and broad luscious mouthfeel framed by perfectly balanced acidity. Maintained complexity over several hours. Still seems to have plenty of life left. Wish I had more

From magnum. A beautiful mature, spicy barrique-influenced Puligny-nose followed by a balanced, minty, crispy palate with liquorice and good length. As good as they get. Great wine from the start of the PYCM era.

Dark golden in color. Tastes very advanced on the palate. Still good and drinkable but definitely on the fast train to premox. Could be a storage issue.

Aromas of citrus, white flowers and minerals with a touch of smoky oak influence. Rich and round on the palate but with good balancing acidity. Good length. I didn't get the opportunity to taste this until hours after this was opened, so I would only assume that a non-premoxed bottle has bags of life left in it.

Medium yellow. Incredibly fresh orange peel that leaped out of the glass followed by smoke and lees-an altogether thrilling nose. Just about perfect balance of sugar and acid with pure fruit and a long, limestone finish. Caressing feel. Superb wine!

(Pierre Yves Colin-Morey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Folatieres") This was good wine but not all that exciting. Should be considering the tariff. And this was before the 2005 Burgundy pricing bender. Mineral nose that got stankier with air. This was way oaky in its youth but has sucked it all up with a little bit of age. No premox either! Palate was elegant, but not all that complex or concentrated. Just kind of boring. Finish was medium and thats it. Didn't even finish the bottle.
(Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Puligny-Montrachet "Les Folatieres") Out of the gates this had a beautifully mineral nose with lots of white flowers and toasty oak. After aeration the nose picked up a celery/saline element and grew more layered and complex. Big and rich on the palate and packed with fruit. Borders on sweet but is very typical of '02. Long finish with lots of extract and silky, sweet fruit. Very lemony finish. Brilliant focus and wonderful acidity. Not showing much complexity now but amazingly yummy.
