  We noticed this Echezeaux on the wine list at Joey's Place aka Robuchon Hong Kong, we thought the price reasonable and we love the vintage. Et voila, the sommelier agreed and off we went to the races. Dominique Laurent is "negociant" (buys grapes from the best producers he can find in the Cote d'Or), who previously was a pâtissier, which of course well-positions him to have the eye, nose and palate for making wine...we think! This was the WOTN. Fairly dark, brownish-red on the eye. We love it! Mellow, smooth, warm, complex blend of dark and red fruits with a good dose of sous bois (wet, dirty forrest) on the nose. Luvly!!! The pleasant red and dark fruit slide down our gullets with an unexpected slightly sweet fruit power and range of smooth tannins. She is swirling perfectly around the dance floor with confidence, structure, talent and a seductive nature that cannot be ignore! Wow, a hoped for treat that met all our expectations and then some!
  
  Lower end of mind-blowing meets exceptional, exceedingly well-made and incredibly pleasing to the eye, nose and palate. The only complaint one can pass on to the winery is “why can’t we break the bottle and sip the remnants of the wine still sticking on the glass?” We have achieved this extraordinary feeling more than several times in our lives. We fondly remember such lofty tingling of all the senses as “Wine Nirvana”. As and IF we ever discover a wine offering the opportunity to lick the glass shards, then we will know Nirvana was not the end of the rainbow.
