On the nose you get fresh figs and almond butter. It is rich and heady in the mouth with a whip of minerally acidity shivering down the wine’s spine. It has a most pleasant thread of spice through the flavor profile and length of flavor is excellent.

Gary's Belated Birthday Dinner (Paris Club - Chicago IL): Lots of ripe orchard fruit with energy, density and power to start. Popped and poured, this was best after 5-10 minutes in glass as sweet spice started to emerge. This held up very nicely for close to an hour. Later in the evening (open ~4 hours) it came across as faded and shrill.

Leroy Dinner (Grace - Chicago IL): Very ripe start with plenty of apple and pear. Ripe and lush on palate, reasonably mature fruit flavor profile that is slightly short on perceived mineral and acidity at this point in its evolution. Still very good, perhaps 90 or 91 points tonight.

Ominously dark color, sadly past its prime. Still some fruit here and it was interesting, but a short and simple finish.

Great mature Burg - asphalt / wet stone aromas, hint of petrol. real character and expression.
