  The surprise of the in this Zinfandel blend taste-off, this was a bold sweet fruit bomb. Medium to full bodied, dark ruby red color, bright full aromas and flavors of full rich ripe sweet black raspberry and ripe spicyplum with a hint of bramble, leather and smoke. It was amazingly sweet with bright forward fruit - its hard to imagine this not being at its prime right now. Surprisingly soft, smooth and easy drinking given its high 15%alcohol content. This shows Scout's Honor Zinfandel Blend at its finest, and shows reason to go get more and try other vintage releases! May be too sweet for many folks but that's why it makes a perfect complement to the bar-b-que ribs and the white cheeses.

  This one was classic Venge with the offset of the petite syrah and charbono meshing real nicely with the zin. Fruity, ever so slightly sweet, a perfect combination for a meal with a touch of heat. Great dringking wine and a good deal too.

  We were worried about this one because CT said to drink by 2007, but it held up fine. Strong color, initial flavors of licorice and vanilla but with an acidic aftertaste. Wine has lost much of its fruit character and is at a point of rapidly diminishing returns. We'll consume the remaining bottles but won't share it with company. Decanted due to sediment in the bottle.

  Excellent bottle, drinking beautifully now. Medium ruby red with just a touch of orange starting around the edges. Rich aroma of plum, raspberry, leather, and a bit of dried flowers. Very fruity palate, but well balanced. Still has some structure hanging on, but very smooth now. Long, delicious finish. Everything is integrated, the fruit is still very alive, it's in a great spot now.

  This was not over the hill despite the "drinking window" Instead, it was a great value wine, with just a little spice, well balanced, big juicy dark fruit, but not sweet at all, real nice
