While definitely at the back end of its life, still showed some vitality when PnP. Whatever tannin was left was very relaxed but still was pleasant enough with some spice to be enjoyed at a holiday gathering.

Poured to a nice dark garnet coloring; Opened about 30 min before pouring. A nice jammy nose, loads of black fruit on the front with some chocolate on the back end. Still delicious with 1 bottle left. Anyone who says Zins can't age hasn't tasted one that does.

Poured to a deep, dark, almost black purple. A powerful black fruit nose that faded with time, but left plenty of blackberry,, plum and cassis notes. The back end of the palate added a hint of chocolate, along with some lurking tannin holding this big burly zin together. Over powered the smoky bbq ribs which is unusual. Incredibly smooth!

This wine has mellowed, ever so slightly, in the two years since the last bottle was opened. Poured to a deep garnet color with a well-defined nose of plum, cassis and blackberry. The palate added some chocolate, more black fruit with lots of sinew. The tannins have dropped, but lurk underneath. A very smooth zin, and probably close to its peak.

Poured to a black plum coloring with no hint of bricking. The initial nose was powerful fruit, probably some plum, but also some blackberry and cassis. Later some chocolate and earthier notes appeared. The tannins are just starting to slide into oblivion, leaving a smooth, powerful, wonderful zin! This may be approaching it's prime but I doubt there's a need to run out and drink immediately.
