Nice dark ruby color. True GSM nose including the pepper and dusty notes. on the palate also clearly a new world GSM blend, but simple and straightforward with sweetness substituting old world acidity but off balance and a tad hot. Agree that it has to be rated in the context of pricing and for under $10, this delivers.
Not many on this site lower themselves to drink $5.00 wine. And thats OK... we can afford to Drink $15/50/500 bottles. Many Can't. So...is there a better $5 bottle. I think not. Is there a $15 bottle that is no better than this one? Yep-you betcha. Its good and has character for a jar of juice. 2 buck chuck has no definable character and Franzia is a convicted criminal (check it out...he substituted varietals and got caught and convicted). So recommend to your friends as a friendly easy to drink jar.
As others have noted this is a $5 dollar bottle of wine, however, I would argue that it is not nor does it taste or smell like anything other than a $5 dollar of wine. It is far too light in color to be a typical GSM and the noticeable RS really detracts from anything else I might have noticed about this wine.
Fair at $5 not recommended at anything more. Could almost be mistaken for a cheap Pinot.
