Lisa's 52nd Birthday Dinner (Easy Bistro): Ruby color. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, forrest floor, and potpourri. Concentrated dark fruit on the palate with a long finish. The tannins are surprisingly firm even after 10 years in the bottle and point to a long life ahead of this wine which comes in at only 12.8% alcohol. Chehalem’s Statement is bottled only in special vintages. $99.

Nose - forest floor, mulberry or some other interesting berry, per Brian 'candy corn' Mouth - quite restrained, minerality, sour berry, nice tart. Very interesting. Tasted blind would guess burgundy.

Still a lot of fruit on the initial taste. Finish a bit thin, but overall, an excellent pinot drinking well right now.
