  • Traditional Barossa style. Bold, fragrant & punchy, red fruits forward, mellowed riped tannins 2004 is really just right to drink now .
Crowd favourite tonight. Was a wow with wagyu beef ....

  • Picked up 48 bottles of this beauty in November.

From the minute I unscrewed the first bottle and took a sniff I could tell this was well made classy stuff!

Poured into an oversized glass and swilled around for a minute or two it started to release room filling aromas of vanilla, hot berries, tar and figs.

The thick ruby red appearance extends to the edge, it's heavy and thick and at 11 years of age is still holding together well.

The palate is massive, lots of cheek burning alcohol, hot sweet fruit, very moreish, and long.

This wine has got a good few years left in it, probably approaching its peak now it is a serious contender. Highly recommended if you can find some!

  • The wine is clear and bright with a deep garnet colour. The nose is clean and developing, showing pronounced intensity aromas of oak (vanilla, coconut, chocolate, cinnamon), black fruit (blackberries jam), fruit development (cooked dark cherries), pungent spices (black pepper) and bottle ageing (truffles). The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium(+) fine-grained tannins and a high alcohol. It has a full body and pronounced intensity flavours of oak (vanilla, coconut, chocolate, cinnamon), black fruit (blackberries jam), fruit development (cooked dark cherries), pungent spices (black pepper) and bottle ageing (truffles). The finish is long.

It is an outstanding quality wine. It has a really pronounced flavour concentration that balance very well the high alcohol with the polished tannins adding some support. The finish is lingering and the wine shows aromatic complexity provided by oak and bottle ageing.

Can drink now, but it has potential to continue developing tertiary aromas over the next 6-8 years.

  • Black Friday Stress Relief (Farpointe Cellar): If you like blackberry pie, you'll lije this nose. It also had an earthy undertone that framed the blueberry fruit at the end. It was nice and soft on the palate, with rich blackberry and blueberry flavors, and a great dirt finish.

  • Lots of spice and pepper with some red berried fruit. Palate is well balanced and has good length. Very enjoyable.
