Ignacio opened up bottle I gave him. First tried white port in Duoro Valley Portugal while staying at Six Sense hotel. 20 year White port is very rare and hard to find due to fact that vast majority of grapes grown in valley are red so the few whites are used for their white wines. I figured I could buy from a selection of white 20 year Ports when left to stay in Porto. Checked every major Porthouse and several wine stores and in whole city could only find the Kopke ( which turned to be almost as good as one had in Duoro). In summary more like nectar than traditional Tawny. More like a white version of a Vintage port but a little lighter and sweeter. much prefer the white

2022 Port Harvest Tour; 9/22/2022-10/2/2022 (Porto, Portugal): Amber gold with an almost clear edge. This wine has aromas of toasted coconut, vanilla, and tropical notes. The palate has incredible freshness with bright acidity, complemented by rich notes of maple and honey. Despite its 140 grams per liter of sugar, the lively acidity creates a sense of balance. The very long, smooth finish features caramel and wood notes.

2022 Port Harvest Tour; 9/22/2022-10/2/2022 (Porto, Portugal): With a golden color and a slight brown hue, this White Port offers ginger on the nose with shy notes of tropical fruits like guava and banana. The intense, rich mouthfeel leans towards a dryer style, featuring smokey old wood, burnt vanilla, and a very long finish.

Intense nose that comes in waves of roasted almond, hazelnut with raisins, orange peel and a hint of clove and nutmeg. Fine, medium-sweet palate of dried apricot, caramel and spice with a good backbone of acidity leading to a caramelised apple and spiced pear- almost cognac-like finish. Delicious! Can't wait to try the 30.
