  Well integrated with a big nose and palate of cherry and black and blue fruit, along with mild spice and cream soda. The finish is full but not long.

  In Appearance, this wine was a clear, deep ruby that stayed consistent right to the edge. It also showed medium legs.
  The Nose on the wine was clean and of medium-plus intensity that is still developing. The alcohol level on the nose was a bit high, but it also exhibits aromas of smoke, black cherry, and plum, with maybe just a hint of cedar and leather.
  The Palate was dry with medium-plus alcohol that was perhaps a bit out of balance. It also showed medium acidity, full body, but the fruit notes dominate over what was medium-minus tannins. In fact, this is a fairly big and fruity wine with a medium-plus flavor profile with notes of dark fruit like black berry, black cherry, and some jamminess. I didn't find the notes of pepper that others found, but the length of the wine was fairly short with just a note of eucalyptus on the back palate. There were also some slight notes of smoke and cedar, but the barrel components were not overwhelming in this wine.
  Overall, this was a good wine, perhaps a very good wine if the alcohol was in a little better balance. This is drinking now and should be laid down for more than another 1-2 years.

  Aromas of brambles, black currant, and blackberries. Dark purple-garnet in color. Rich flavors of cocoa, dark berries, and good spice. Good acid, well balanced, but not particularly big or bold. Should be very nice with mediterranean flank steak and summer orzo salad.
