  • Yellow gold. Good aromatics showing off melons and spicy notes. Medium bodied with absolutely no acidity, at first this was absolutely horrible. Major alcoholic heat with a completely off putting oily texture, and quite candidly, no concept of white wines from the Northern Rhone. Some fruit stepped up once it warmed up a tad and showed off some apricot and pear, but the booze never truly dissapaited.

So what's the deal on wines like this? I understand if people like a bigger, more modern style with reds, buttery Chardonnay- not for me, but I get what people like. What is the appeal on modern white Rhones which offer so little both texturally and from a flavor perspective? Baffling.
