Even though the drinking window was supposed to be over, I really thought this was excellent. A bit hot, true, but really fine dark fruit on the mid palette. Did not have a long finish, but nether was it rough or bitter. Good medium body and a thick taste, even with some earthy tendencies to it. Certainly getting to the "drink it" stage, but I'm in not hurry with the other two bottles I have left. Color was pretty deep, not purple but really really cherry and dark. Good wine in good time.

I have to disagree with DukeDrew. Certainly the wine appears a little hot at first, but after an hour or so everything balances out and the fruit shows through. This isn't a wine that is fading yet, though it's probably at its peak. I drank it with barbecued ribs and it was a very good pairing.

14.8% zin, fruit is fading away and the alcohol is taking over. Not something I'm doing cartwheels over, but not something I'd toss in the sink. Just that average, $20 bottle of zin that probably should have been consumed within a week of purchase.

Nice, balanced, easy-drinking wine. Held up well. Leather predominates.
