This bottle was not as expressive as the last one. Still a nicely balanced wine with typical Hunter earthy notes, red fruits and plum to give depth. The acidity is still on the fresh side (still), and the tannins are firm. All in all this has a nice balance. I think this is approaching its peak, but any decline is going to be long and slow. There's another 5 years of pleasure at least.

Similar notes to previous. Lots of red fruits and earth on the palate. Nice acidity still balanced with silky tannins. Nice length, will definitely last for several more years.

What a pleasant surprise (oh I could make bad pun here). This wine is really nice. Not sure why I was suspicious of this. Its a classic Hunter shiraz, lots of red fruits and earth. Not really showing any signs of age either. Great structure with the tannins silky and in balance with the acidity. Given it is under screwcap I'm not sure why most people give this wine a relatively short life. For me it has at least 10 years in front of it.

Still going strong. Plum, red fruits, earth. Still feels balanced and not showing signs of age, though perhaps it has plateaued.

Drinkable, but the jamminess reminded more of the Clare, or even McLaren Vale than the Hunter and lacked the structure of other vintages I've had.
