Good colour and acidity, certainly not heavily oxidised, but a bit muted. Some Shiraz ripeness with soft tannins, light-medium bodied Hunter style, but specific flavours were hard to distinguish. Not unpleasant, but unexciting.

Screwcap. Nose of prune, morello cherry, and dried cranberry. Palate is light, alcoholic, and syrupy, with flavours of prune, blackcurrant, and pencil lead. Not to my taste: too pruney, sweet, and boozy.

Aged Hunter fun (Frank's place in Matraville): Plums, spice, peppery, slight vanilla, slightly meaty, very slightly leathery. Thick, dense, peppery and plummy, talc textured tannins, alcohol warmth.

Nice Hunter nose - but palette limited initially.
