Coravin fun - Burgundy (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Concentrated with sweet spice, meaty notes, dark hued fruits with a little gamey underpin, gets more jubey and ripe with time. Juicy, generously fruits showing blackberry with a little blackcurrant in support (as are the slightly grainy tannins) all travel long joined by a little black truffle. Very good.

Coravin fun - new arrivals (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Blackberry, slightly dusty sweet spice, cream, caramel, a little vanilla, reflection of the vintage compared ot the others in this bracket. Hmm, chalky tannins, acid a little softer and the fruit present but the whole a bit disjointed. Time may help.

Dinner and Lunch with Michael Stephens...and Damoy and Aurelian Verdet Wines (Chicago, USA): Alongside the 2015, this was charming now, but nowhere near the same potential quality level. Fully mature with as much earth as fruit, with good length.

PnP with a wonderful Gevrey-nose tight at start. Black berries and cherry and a nice acidity below. Fine village. At its peak now I would say. 90-91P

Fine Vines Burgundy Tasting (Vin Chicago - Highland Park IL): Tasting, brief note. Plenty of black cherry with braised meat and spice. Very good depth and length for Villages level, this is well within its peak drinking window.
