I don't know how this was in its youth, but it is hitting on all cylinders right now. Spicy nose, red fruit and pepper on the palate, this was nice on day 2 with a plate of cured meats, cheese, pickles and grapes. Very nice rendition of Tempranillo.

– popped and poured – – tasted non-blind over 3 Days – – 60% Tempranillo, 25% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre –
NOSE: kirsch; loads of oak; a bit alcoholic; sour cherry/cranberry note; fleeting hints of leather and smoke.
BODY: incredibly fine particulate matter; medium-full bodied; dark ruby color with a brown wash throughout -- looks a bit muddy; color is of medium-deep depth.
TASTE: tons of sweet oak with a touch of blackberry; very slight hint of sour/tart cran-cherry; tannic; full palate; 14.9% alc.; long-ish finish; oak is so overbearing it’s hard to taste much of anything else, which is really unfortunate because I’ve always enjoyed drinking this wine young ... perhaps the fruits have fallen away over the past few years, leaving (nearly) nothing but oak. This bottle held-up well over 3 days, but the oak never subsided.

Wow. About ready to sell all Paso Robles wines in cellar until trying this. Fantastic mix between new and old world. Had the upfront fruit but in a very restrained way. Had all of the old world components including dark berries, forest floor, herbs, leather. Had to pop second bottle and enjoy the love!
