PNP. Only slight bricking on the edges. Wonderful nose upfront, slightly herbal and dusty. Subtle dark fruits on the palate, medium finish. Tasted old, but not tired at all. For others holding I would say a small decant is fine, and no rush to drink up on this.

Monthly Tasting Group: Bordeaux and Cabs 2009 and Older (Chez Dalluge, MN): Very dark red color, cloudy. PNP, Small glass over 40 minutes. Nose is fun, cassis, blackberry, wood and tobacco. The palate can't quite keep the alcohl in check at this point. The dark fruit is there and the wood, which comes off a little angular too. Holding together better than expected, but I'd say it's time to drink these up.

Tasted blind. This needed quite a bit of air. Dark and blue fruit characters and leather are most prominent on the nose. Quite tannic with plush fruit, tobacco, and leather. Nice, lingering finish. I was surprised how much this changed (and improved) with air, given the age. Interesting stuff!

The Ravenswood Library Wines (M/M Blue Oval's): Deep core, bricking at the meniscus. Red berry and black currant, with hints of leather and cedar. Well-balanced. Really nice fruit remains on the palate, ending with good length. Remains pretty consistent throughout the evening, just a very nice mature cabernet. 90/91 pts-beyond this is bordering on the ridiculous.

Dark fruit, quite rich, some plums, dusty tannins (still quite present!), oak, graphite, cigar. Excellent value for money!
