Nose of plum and cedar, palate showed a more stewed fruit presence than I'd have liked, with raspberries and plums dominant. My enthusiasm was tempered when I found out Perricone was merely a local synonym for Barbera. I like my Barberas acidity dominated rather than overly fruity.

Dark-brambles, pepper and spice; all a la Aussy Shiraz, but this is lighter, positively. Very together for this age; was clearly built with density and balance. 88 to 89, 88.

Served with fourth course of the pasta tasting menu at Babbo. No notes. Excellent, rich, earthy red wine that paired well with "Domingo's Pyramids with Passato di Pomodoro."
