Nice dark red fruit of blackberries and dried plums, some subtle spice, decent nose, medium tannins. This shiraz doesn't jump out of the glass but is mellowed (even softened) by the cab. Decent mid weeker for the price (wife says she'd buy it again).

Extremely spicy, with mulberry and blueberry notes. Still a dense wall of tannins that need considerable time to break down. Would not touch another bottle until at least 2014, and even then I would expect the spice to be dominant over the fruit.
