Still a bit of alcohol, but the subtle bright fruits have melded nicely with the background of , I don't know what. But medium bodied, not a long finish, not high acid, but a good light wine for a hot day.

As indicated on the bottle, the nose smells of plum, watermelon, and spices. However, the palate seems to lack concentration, and while there is an upfront strawberry flavor, it is against a background of what I can only describe as paper and concrete, with some alcohol also coming through. I have certainly enjoyed their previous rosés, but this bottle didn't quite compare. Perhaps I waited too long to open this one.

Darker than most roses and still a firm punch on the nose with bright aromas of red berries that still yielded a firm structure of fresh fruit and a tart acidic bite to balance it. Better than most...a natural pairing with fried chicken.

Dinner w/ DeAnn at MelBees: As always, this was a great wine. Strawberry, cinnnamon, nutmeg and a nice smokey note that hung at the back of the mouth long after the wine was gone. Continues to be one of the best Cali roses out there. Was a perfect match to mussles in a light tomato and garlic broth.
