I quite liked the lift here, but the distracting dirty/TCA notes just got in the way too much for me.

  Flickinger Warehouse Tasting (Chicago, IL): A wine very much to my liking. This is silky red fruit all the way from the nose to the finish. Elegant, light, with a lovely spice touch to it. Not the most complex of Burgundies, but drinking fantastically at the moment. Almost certainly at its peak now.

  Slight bricking at the edges with a light purple center. A little disjointed during the first hour or so this came together very nicely. Aromas of potting soil and very pure fruit including cherries and strawberry. Seamless finish. I wish I had more as this was an excellent example of a Volnay hitting it's stride.
