  • Leuchtendes Rubin.

  • I have written many notes on this wine. Boillot,s style of wine making takes some getting use to. There is extraction to their wines but they take at least 8 to 10 years to balance out and show a beautiful balance.
I keep opening this wine because I just am enjoying it,s journey . Give this bottle at least an hour or decant it before drinking and you will see the potential with more aging. Even better the second day.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed - my favorite red burg so far.

  • Drinking very well. Slight nose of menthol, dark red, good acidity, an elegant sweetness with great dark fruit flavours primarily dark cherry. Great fruit extraction typical more of a GC in style. Tannins are evident but subtle and are noticeable on the back of the palate. Wonderful wine and a pleasure to drink. In 2021 I was questioning how this would age....Well!

  • Opened tasted then vacuumed and left for a day. Initial tasting was overpowered with oak. The second day this was better balanced with good dark fruit notes , sweetness and moderate tannins. This also shows good length, good acidity and no notable nose. A very enjoyable Volnay that needs some decanting if drank early and will age well.
