Big smoky lift to the aroma, there are also notes of tar, meat and maraschino cherry. It is rich and full, with good intensity and a silky mouthfeel. It finishes with sweet tannins and a lick of tart cherry carrying the flavors on.

Had the chance to try this wine both from a magnum and from a regular 750ml bottle. The smallest bottle more approachable and developed, however, in general it seemed that, Cavallottos have easily proved that Barbera can age greatly. If I had a choice to choose my house wine - this would be it. Very amicable, enjoyable, with hints of oaky, age complexity. Nothing to rave about for hours, but at the same time doing a great job as a food wine. Had it with wild boar stew. Great. Cheers!

Dark fruit (cherry, slight blackberry), spice, earth, slight floral, good acidity.

Hmm, not his greatest Barbera. Nice but lacking real flavour intensity compared to some of the fresher styles like MArengo
