Tasting of two Barolos (01 and 06) and a Barbaresco (1999). 1 hour decant. Tasted independent and with Artie's drunken ribeye. No-one preferred this of the three that were tasted. This was also the youngest by 5 years. Was not overpowering with tannins - so while I'm hopeful that it will improve over the next few years. I'm not convinced. Clear, bit of ruby in the center but garnet halfway through towards the medium meniscus. Bit of sediment. Good nose, with cherry, gravel, coffee and herbaceous notes - but the palate was a little more straightforward. Med+ Body, medium acidity, fine Med+ tannins. Length Med+ - was good but not as flavorful as the other two Piedmonts in the tasting.

Vibrant and penetrating berry nose with minty background. Some earthiness too. 40 second finish. Drinking well now but could benefit from 3-5 more years too.

Wish I had more....one and done ....my cork also broke :(. Amazing tanning a and riot. Eucalyptus and anis to boot, great concentration and intregration!

Bright, sleek and silky, featuring oak spice notes that add dimension to the cherry, strawberry and raspberry fruit. This has the sweetness to balance the dusty tannins on the finish, but needs time
