Christmas Eve dinner with friends. Two hour decant. Main course was standing rib roast and this paired perfectly. Such a yummy wine. Tannins softened over the years. Vanilla, cherry and some raspberry. Lucky I have one more in the cellar.

Far better than last one. Very floral nose. In it's evolution, it is a unique Cab- explosive, poprock-ilke sour cherry burst that dominates the palate early. The finish has more traditional notes of vanilla. I cannot recall a more overt sour cherry blast- does put a smile on your face.

Note- needs a 2-3 hour decant. On pop, it was disjointed and syrupy. Nervous. After 1 hour, it started to integrate with candied dark fruit and a reasonably long finish. Obviously in an awkward state but showed modest promise.

Time has served this wine very well. Dark ruby with narrow rim. Blackberry and blueberry aromas immediately emerge from the glass, followed by the intermingling scents of vanilla and coffee. The palate is more of the same; blackberry and blueberry compote (like the fruits in a pie), laced with bittersweet chocolate and espresso. In spite of the fruit-forward aspect of the wine, there is ample structure (sweet tannins) to keep the wine from being anywhere near flabby. Acidity is medium(-) and the finish is long. I could see this wine drinking well for several years more but I will probably drink my other bottle within a year or two. Overall impression - Excellent.

Tannins are smooth, fruit is lighter on plate than expected. I wouldn't sit on it longer
