  • A bit harsh yesterday when I PnP'd. Coming into its own more today.

Nose is a bit lacking. Some blackberry, earth, and tobacco, but its all subtle--there's no assertiveness. Flavor is pleasant. This is a big and bold wine, with the tannins and oak to make it plenty assertive. Flavor is initially dired red fruit, followed by earth, followed by the classical Cab Franc reediness. Finish is primarily a competition between the reedy favor and the tannins.

If you like Cab Franc, this will satisfy. Its classic, and because of that, its bound to be divisive.
