Slightest brown tint in the glass suggests the age. Dark fruit aromas along with some “funkiness” that might be described by forest floor. On the tongue this one starts out as a relatively light weight cab with plum flavor. Fairly stiff tannin then arrives that give it much more substance. Not a Napa Valley Cabernet powerhouse, but, rather a more elegant example.

14.3% a.b.v. Dark as twilight (the time of day, not the show). Initial nose is quite potent: lots of ripe fruit and oak. Initial palate: bring on the Port. Lots of ripe fruit, little acidity, a little alcoholic heat, and lots of oak in the background. Nothing technically wrong with this wine (it's actually very well-made for what it is), it's just not my favorite style, but I know it does appeal to some.

On its last legs, drink now if you still have some. Tannins were still nice, but the depth and body were lacking.
