  • At peak !! I love old CDP !!
Dry cork, easily removed with the Durand. Dark burgundy color with no evidence of oxidation, clarity low and chewy. Consumed over two days, lively fruit and acid on day one, softened, more brooding, and deep on day two. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, and Garrique. Flavors of rhubarb, black cherry, and rose hips with a hint of licorice with a long finish. A very balanced flavorful CDP. This is an age worthy wine with more years of life left, unfortunately this was my last bottle of this vintage in my cellar. Great fruit and a great winemaking effort

  • Best yet. Fuller body than previous bottle. Very ready out of the bottle. Not quite as good second day. At it’s peak i would guess.

  • Medium ruby. On the nose medium intensity aromas of red plums, red currants, red cherries, dried cherries lavender, violets, farmyard. On the palate the wine is dry with medium acidity, medium fine ripe tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body and a medium plus pleasant fruity finish. The flavors on the palate are of medium plus intensity of ed plums, red currants, red cherries, dried cherries lavender, violets but there is also a distinct sensation of high alcohol which disturbs the balance of the wine. The wine is otherwise very good demonstrating complexity on the nose and palate, intensity on the palate and length on the finish. Drink now, will not improve with further aging.

  • Day 2: Violets, red hots, earth, red licorice and minerals. This is an interesting bottle compared to the others. Lots of sediment. Very drinkable but not as good as previous wines. 89 points

  • Probably the most authentic neuf in tonights line up, this shows garrigue, sweet Grenache and a broad, welcoming warmth, that everybody loved; this is real neuf, people said - I tend to agree. Ready to drink, but will keep, surely.
