Served blind with Burgundies and Oregon Pinots. This was a night when we tasted 22 great wines. No one suspected this was not an older Burg! WOTN when all was said and done. Tremendous youth for its age, still showing some acidity. Complete range of tertiary qualities from leather to roasted mushrooms to earth and cigar box, Still some black cherry, hint of rhubarb. Glad to have a couple more.

Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind Spanish Wine (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Subdued aromas, somewhat tired. Better flavors with dried red cherry and slowly cooked mushroom. Good depth with a sweet, charming finish. This 2nd bottle didn't seem to have the same level of fruit as the 1st (corked) bottle, but at least it was not corked.
