  • From young vines (less than 20 years) from Post Office Block 3 at the Hill of Grace vineyard. Interestingly it has similar aromas and flavours to the few Hill of Grace that i've tried - a unique straw/tobacco/grassy aspect that's very intriguing and complexing. Apart from these, it's about perfectly ripened dark fruits - blackberries and plum, although there's some raspberry liquorice-like flavour appearing too. Very fancy French oak of the spicy biscuit kind. Silky tannins and fantastic length - the flavours roll like waves. It's been a long while since I've enjoyed a shiraz this much.

  • VIP Tasting @ Henschke (Eden Valley, Aus): (VIP Tasting @ the Winery) - Deep and herbal and grassy on the nose - first taste is plums/blackberries/stone fruit which moves into pepper/spices/herbs and finishes with a spicy dark cherry. Wine is incredibly smooth and soft and yet shows a depth that promises that this is going to be even more fantastic with some years. Absolutely amazing what they have accomplished with 20 year old vines.
