  • 深宝石红色,淡淡皮毛味,青椒混合着植物气息,梅果,橡木桶充分融合的香料感,入口酸度高,酒液咸,收口甜,单宁紧涩,抓人,焦糖,青椒,黑果和紫罗兰的香气,后段奶油味,能感觉到酒精的辛辣,余味是梅果,奶油和香草味。闻香感觉应该是一个老年份酒, 没想到入口如此强健,香气浓郁,酒体饱满的甜美的风格,酒精感略明显。

  • The first of my hoard to be consumed. Dark, brooding with hints of age. Thrown considerable crust. The palate is assaulted by spicy pepper and softening fruit. Tannic to the core. Drying. Over oaked. Needs game to balance it.

  • An example of the trend for overoaking Hunter shiraz in an attempt to follow the trend of the big South Australian cousins in the mid 2000’s. The core material has been masked by late picking and too much oak. The Hunters from about 2007 onwards have pulled back on the oak to allow the terroir to speak. Taste the 2000 O’Shea to get an idea of a mature vintage that excels in the traditional Hunter Burgundy style.

  • The trajectory of this has shot up since my last bottle in 2014: the edges have worn off and it is now perfectly rounded. This has still got plenty of years of development in it. Complexity is building. Black fruits at the core with plum and hints of raspberry at the edges. The oak is impeccable. I'm loving this right now. 94+ Finding it hard to see my Maurice O'Shea stocks dropping, given the $250 price range of recent vintages.
