Sunday lunch with the Wine-Ark boys (Porcine, Oxford Street): Leather, slightly dried out black hued fruit, a little alcohol warmth/prickle and a little forest floor on the nose. In the mouth it's off dry, blackberry, slight alcohol warmth, mousse dissipates fairly quickley, soft tannic burr, a little leathery note on the finish. Okay.

Nose of red and black cherry, some earthiness and a bit of cedar plank. Medium to full bodied, low tannins, and a mousse that isn't too coarse. Not a fruit driven wine overall, but a bit of black cherry on the front palate which gives way to quite a bit of black earth at the medium length finish. This is a polarizing wine; some may not like this. I found it very enjoyable and food friendly. Good stuff. Somewhat different from my previous bottle.

An experiment. Under crown seal.
Showing very aged characters, tired but not dead.
Still had a little bubble left.

Didn't take notes, but this was drinking really well last night. Lovely fruit here - plums and blackfruits - and a nice dry finish (B+/A-).

Not a fan of sparkling wines, but this was hard not to like. I'd drink it again.
