Nowhere near past its drinking window. Left this in the display row because I liked the labe, but finally drank because it was past its' window. Would expand window for a few more years. Very delightful at this time.
A venture between Frank Family Vineyards and Rombauer begun in 1996. A blend of 89% Cab Sauv, 6% Merlot and 5% Cab Franc, aged 18 months in used French oak, half used once, half used twice. Dark garnet color. Faint earthy notes, along with plum and blackberry. Much bigger mouthfeel than the Shooting Star and Bonterra. Dark fruit flavors, chewy tannins. Finish is a bit short.
