Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 94 points

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium brown colour, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with pronounced intensity aromas of dried fruit of fig and sultana, oxidation notes of caramel and toffee, kernel notes of chocolate, coffee and walnut, sweet spice of cinnamon. The wine is fully developed.
Palate: Sweet with high acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and velvety texture, high alcohol and full body, with pronounced intensity flavours of dried fruit of fig and sultana, oxidation notes of toffee, kernel notes of chocolate and walnut. The wine has a long finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Australian Vintage Tawny showing great intensity of aromas, with plenty of dried fruit, toffee and chocolate, as well as nice spicy notes. On the palate the wine is sweet but balanced well with great acidity, lively and not cloying, with the high alcohol level not readily felt because of the harmony of the very concentrated flavours. Finishing with an exceptional length, it is ready to drink now and can maintain for another 5-10 years.
