• 2011 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers 93 Points

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru

  Bright, fresh nose with apricots, honeysuckle, and clay, and gets riper as it breathes. Fairly intense apricots, nectarine, and stones. Finished fairly long. Good!

  Australia, Victoria, Gippsland

  Quite vegetal to start, but the bright fruits came up quickly, with lime, peach, nectarine, and some bread notes towards the end

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

  Citrusy, and some apples and peach, with some cloves and cinnamon sprinklings. Good finish of peach and some sugar plums

• 2015 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Langhe Chardonnay Lidia 88 Points

  Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC

  Lots of elderflowers in the nose at first, but quickly deteriorates to acids and cheese. Lemon and lime on palate. Quite a short finish but sugar plums lingering

  France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

  Literally liquid apple strudel, with cooked apples, cinnamon, cream cheese, almond, and bread. Good acidity, making it pleasant despite it’s age

  Somewhat greenish - green apples, lemon, limestone, bread yeast, some herbs and cloves. Very surprised to have such freshness given its age! Good!

  USA, California, Napa Valley

  Huge and flamboyant, with nectarine and red apples, banana and mint. Good acidity which ensures it’s still fresh. Beautiful!

  Nose was rather mild and hard to pick out the fruits, but got the clay and stones. Some apricots and nectarine. A Burg that clearly is falling off its hill. Quite a pity

  Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Yarra Valley

  Smoked, funky nose, somewhat like it was oaked in an overcharred barrel. Dominated by flint and smoke on palate with a bit of apples and peach. Did not find it well-made

  Rather mild, but some distinctive apricots, red apples, and banana on palate with bread and clay undertones

  Somewhat green and leafy, and had limestones and brine. A touch of nutmeg and herbs completes it

  Acidic and heavily oaked and leafy, with quite some nutmeg spices, lemon and a bit of peach. Too green and uncharacteristic of Puligny

  Light bodied, and whilst having ripe pineapple and mango, it also has the cool minty scent. Adding in a touch of brine and cloves, makes it an enjoyable Chardy
