  • From a magnum.

Medium garnet with a watery rim.

Pronounced nose of rose hip, sour rainier cherry, vanilla, licorice, mushroom, soft warm oak helps frame the wine.

    Palate: sour cherry, red currant.

Medium alcohol 13.5%, medium body, medium+ acidity, silky smooth with fully integrated tannins. Incredible mouthfeel. Delicate and light on its feet. The nose really fills the glass and continues to permeate even after the glass is empty. Fully mature and drinking beautifully from magnums.

  • Tasted blind. Dark and opaque red color, almost thick and black as night. This is serious. The nose is completely stunning. This was towards the end of the blind tasting, and I deduced it had to be my bottle. So I did not guess what this was, I just enjoyed it. Nose jumps out of the glass and greets you as an old friend. The old friend gives you a warm hug. You smell childhood memories and nostalgia, reminding you of the two of you running through a flowery meadow on an early summer morning. Your friend then gives you a basket of fresh french spices, aromatic tomatoes and tons of ripe mature cherries, redcurrant, strawberries and red apples in abundance. You are happy and ecstatic. When I tasted this wine, I just sat there smiling. Perfectly balanced and powerful palate with a long finish giving me tons of complexity, fine tannins and sweet ripe fruit. Stunning.

  • Stood over Christmas period and no opportunity occurred so became birthday treat. Soft appealing nose with tiniest cabbage hint. Lovely on palate, with moderate- length finish. Very pleasant but...expected more. Vaguely remember jasper Morris finding this the best of a large vogueot tasting. Disappointed. Was going to give 92, but note my 93 for hudelot voug 2000. Long time since but this probably not worse. Just not better.

  • Medium red. Tart cherry, raspberry and cranberry. Mushroom and forest floor and dried cherries on the nose. Smooth textured with perky acidity making for a lovely and lively wine.
