Mondo tasting $250+
Entry wines served double blind and reveal at the end. Order is mixed up so you don't even know which one is yours.
WOTN- '82 Gruaud Larose
#2- '96 Margaux
#3- '98 Giacosa
Interesting themes today:
2x mini verticals of Chateau Margaux and Clos des Tart
Only 1 non-French wine and it took the bronze
My guessing was calling a lot of producers we had just not on the same wine as them.
2014 Paul Bara Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
Very fine bubbles; golden apple, lemon, good doughiness and mineral evident on nose; white cherry, good acid, not in a bad place now, doesn't seem like a challenging year, juicy, not a super long finish but very tasty.

2008 Ployez-Jacquemart Champagne Extra Brut Vintage
France, Champagne
Larger bubbles; much rounder than the Bara before, oak, white Burgundy-esque with bubbles, dry finish, lemony, seems like a lot of Chardonnay, very youthful, temperature brings out the extra brut character.

2008 Pierre Paillard Champagne Grand Cru La Grande Récolte
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
Golden apple, toast, a touch of cider character but no suggestions of oxidation; really yummy.
