Was -16 degrees F yesterday morning when i left for work (with a HUGE full moon shining over us). My car CD player refused to work, but that was the only casualty. Otherwise a nice sunny & cold day.

Have a relative in Indiana who needs to go some work outside next week and is hoping for a change of temps. This week is not good for sure.

Been there, done that. Much better now and grateful. There is something rather enjoyable about red wine and cheese by the fireplace when there's snow outside, but we had more than enough of that. Now the same menu with maybe occasional viewing of the da$$ cold and snow on TV. Works for me.

All stay safe, warm, and careful out there.

Cozy Cheers!

We've had lows in the single digits the last few nights (9˚ F, 6.5˚ F) and now winds gusting 40 to 50 mph at least.

High temp today around 7 degrees, with continued sunny skies. Same thru Saturday, with the only problem being that the LOW temps are around -10 degrees every night.

I can survive the temps just fine, but this onslaught of cold weather is beginning to worry me that my vinifera vines in my yard may be taking heavy losses to the buds. Hoping my protective wraps provide just enough temperature relief. Merlot doesn't like temps below zero.

Second night of below freezing temps here. Nothing compared to the Burgh, but home heaters aren't built for this and neither are the tropical plants...

19F in the neighborhood this fine morning. Good news is that all indications point to a general warming trend this coming week.

My tropicals aren't excited about the temps either, the temps inside of my house. Might have a few casualties by winter end. For some reason my avocado trees want to begin blooming.

Another night below zero. 9 nights out of the last 10 with freezing temps still expected tonight & Saturday night. Easily on par with the previous polar vortex years. Let's hope that Lake Michigan & the other lakes don't freeze over completely.

12 degrees here, feels rather colder. It's been at least a week since the temperature has been above freezing. Cattle are having a hard time getting water.

We have a balmy 17°, along with winds of 35-40 MPH to give a wind chill of -3. Wind chill should break below -10 after dark as the winds stay but the temps fall to 5° or so.
Dog walking should be a blast tonight.

0 degrees F here this morning. We're planning on having friends over for venison chili tonight, along with a roaring fire in the fireplace, and hearty reds.

Text from my bro in Indiana yesterday noted it's sad when one is happy that the temp is UP to zero.

Stay warm out there.
