I'm not sure if auction sites count, but I noticed a great deal on 2002 Pavie on Winbid:
http://www.winebid.com/buy_wine/item_details.aspx?ItemId=2910640-P9459

I'm too broke to spend that much on a bottle, but I've heard people here rave about it in the past so thought I'd post it up.

Winex is clearing out some of their wines from Ovene out of Central CA.  Never had any of their wines, but our own Fingers seems to like them.  For a CA pinot, 86-92 is pretty darn impressive for the price point.  Picked up 3 of the Santa Rita Hills Pinots ($20), 3 of The Puzzle Pinots ($17), and 3 of The Puzzle Viognier ($10).  We'll see how she goes....

Wine Exchange just put this one out, anyone had the Sainte Catherine? I had the QdC a while back from older vintage, really good stuff.

BAUMARD 2004 CLOS DE SAINTE CATHERINE COTEAUX DU LAYON CLOSE OUT $45 RETAIL!
score: WA 93 WS 93
add to cart $19.99 add a case $239.88

From Wine Advocate: From a sandy site near Rochefort and showing every sign of rigorous botrytis selection, the Baumard 2004 Coteaux du Layon Clos de Sainte Catherine displays a gorgeous bouquet of gardenia, quince jelly, orange, and pineapple. Succulent and rich yet wafting and dynamic in its palate interchange of mineral, floral, zesty and pungently herbal, and richly fruited elements, this finishes with a levitating, (magic-)carpet-like impression of quince, candied orange rind, qu... read more

From The Wine Advocate: The Baumard 2004 Quarts de Chaume reflects painstaking, multiple pickings of perfectly botrytized fruit, with plenty of gold-green grapes to insure juiciness, vivacity and flux. Yep, just added two more.  Drank one a couple of months ago, it's still really young, let those bottles sleep for at least four years if you jump on that deal.  BTW--It's $10 cheaper than WTSO was offering it for a few months ago.

Binny's has the 2006 Caymus Special Selection for $99.99.  They are advertising this on www.binnys.com as the lowest price anywhere.  Not sure if I'm going to bite, but I'm tempted.

Binnys 15% off everything sale today was pretty cool. Picked up some L'Evangile, Smith Haut Lafitte, Larcis Ducasse, Lafon Rochet, Betz & Achaval Ferrer wines. Wanted to buy some more 2006 Bordeaux from the Margaux district but the Pavillon du Chateau Margaux was $70 before the sale, and still too high for me. Maybe next time, or maybe I will find some others when I visit Paris. Would like to find Dauzac and Desmirail, as I thought these tasted great when I was at the Unions des Grands Cru tasting this winter.

I have to 05 and the 02 and paid $40ish for both. I may bust the 02 and replace with the 04. I think $20 is no brainer on these wines.

I consider $20 a good price too but I am beginning to wonder if $20 is the current going price for that wine.  I purchased three bottles from a local (Plano, TX) retailer on Aug. 20, 2008 for $20.  Not sure if this signifies anything but it is curious.

Oh BABY!

I have loved this wine ever since I bought it on release, I still have two bottles in my cellar and I've been reluctant to open them knowing how much I've enjoyed this wine every time I've had it over the years. When I saw this offer come in at original pricing, Chateau direct, I almost trampled the girls getting to the computer. Couldn't quite bring myself to order the 6L though...

I highly recommend! (Link embedded below)

Wine Exchange - 1995 Clerc Milon: Ex-Chateau Deal Of A Lifetime!

These are strange times for sure. But in this marketplace you can find some outrageously great deals on wines you would have never even seen just a few years ago. Case in point this #4 Wine of the Year in the 1998 Wine Spectator Top 100. We remember selling this wine way back when that Top 100 issue came out! Our price in the April 2000 Winex Stock Report was $58.99, and we’re offering it today, nearly 10 years later, for one dollar more! The difference is that the wine now has a few years in the bottle with perfect provenance (being aged at the chateau). What also makes this offer so compelling is that we have a limited number of large formats that include; magnums (at no up-charge), individually boxed 3.0L (double magnums) and a limited amount of 6.0 liters (imperials).

ETA for the wine is autumn of this year and would make a perfect holiday gift for the discriminating Bordeaux collector. If it's a pristine bottle of older, ready to drink classified Bordeaux at a great price, look no further. A deal like this just doesn't happen everyday!

For this offer we are waiving any minimums on large format bottles, but require a 3-bottle minimum for 750mls. Offer ends Monday, August 3. Thanks.

This strikes me as an excellent deal if you're in the market for a Malbec:

not saying it's not a worthy bottle of wine, but a few things to look out for:

CT average paid is 30 buck, which is what this wine is on sale for.

2003 was in general a poor year in Argentina.

Fruit driven Argentine malbecs can go downhill very fast.  I've had 2004's that were good in summer 08 and completely over the hill in spring 09.

Again might be well worth the 30 bucks everyone else has been paying for it.

Hank, fair comment but the price is virtually half what winesearcher.com has it for anywhere else worldwide. (I also find the CT average generally skews low relative to real world availability due to futures purchases and the more informed consumer on here.) Also, I've had 2003and the 2004 and find them both quite good.

fair enough --

Winelibrary doesn't ship to WA state so maybe my analysis can be chalked up to "sour grapes" ;)

Ha! I live in PA. Don't get me started on sour grapes re: shipping.

I'm at the WL fairly often so if you ever see anything you want, let me know and I'm happy to pick it up and ship it for you.

I use the Wine Library much like I use PLCB, Wines Til Sold Out, Bin Ends, and any number of others.  I buy when I find great deals.  With the Wine Library I also buy more expensive singletons when I haven't had the wine and don't want to make the 3-pack or 6-pack investment required by the winery to buy from them until I try it.

The Wine Barn in Orlando has Clos La Coutale 2007 Malbec on sale for $11.99 which is a nice price for a good daily drinker.

Many Bordeaux's? Most of the Classification it seems.

Wine Exchange had put out some offers on Lynch Bages and some others recently at pretty low prices, but when I hit Wine Searcher it looks like prices are falling all over the place.

J2K, PBM, Anne, et all

Hentley Farm Wines Zinfandel Barossa Valley 2007

Quoted at $36.00 PLCB Price Was: $26.49... Now $19.99

The International Wine Cellar 89 points: 'Medium red. Impressively complex aromas of black raspberry, candied cherry, dried flowers and pungent herbs. Light-bodied red and dark fruit flavors are firmly etched and braced by firm minerality. Quite suave and precise for a zinfandel, with very good finishing cut and length.' Sept 2008

I tasted this at the winery in March 2008, I was very impressed and more so given this was Zinfandel being grown in Shiraz/Cabernet dominated wine region. I would seriously suggest trying it, Hentley is a producer I really can't say enough good things about.

Thought I would top this and add an entry,

If you were not aware Ultimate wine   http://www.ultimatewineshop.com/?pVar=64  started a daily m-f  it looks like of,
"Wines timed to go',  something like WTSO but they do theirs on a daily basis or sell out.  Some of the selections have been decent and if you want to add some stuff from their free wine ship page you can get a good deal. SO maybe check it out or get on their e mail list..

Not affiliated in any way , just order  from them cus it comes next day .

I have been buying from K&L and Wine.com lately, any comparisons.  K&L ships from No. Cal. in 3 days std.,  Wine.com from Kent, WA. in 2 days which I like, both about $20 a case.  Our local wineries charge about the same for a 1 hour drive, so I pick up the wine.  4 cases in their warehouse at present awaiting a tasting trip.

I just picked up the following for only $52.49 a bottle plus shipping.
2005 - Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux Margaux

It was at www.internationalwineshop.com. I've never done business with them, so hopefully it goes smoothly. This was significantly less than the average CT price or the price they've been going for on Winebid. :)

Ridiculous prices daily on one wine a day at a new website started by the Wine Library. A new Wines Til Sold Out Competitor: Cinderella wine.

I have ordered wine the last three days, it comes NEXT DAY - free shipping and via UPS (my favorite shipper).

Worth a look - the wines change at midnight EST each day, good til sold out.

Ditto on Cinderella.  I jumped on the bandwagon yesterday, snagging 3 bottles of Finca Sandoval for $20/each with free shipping and no tax!  Missed this morning's deal though...bummer.  This site has great deals, but is going to put a real dent in my wallet.

DaddyO - maybe we should arrange a quick virtual tasting thread on the Finca once we've all taken delivery.  There are 3 of us that I know of - me, you, and smahk.  There are probably others.  So far, each of these Cinderella deals has been fantastic, but you have to jump on them early...they have been selling out mid-morning...and this is a very new site.  Once it becomes well-known, it might be even tougher.
