5/11/2024 - oenanthe Likes this wine: 93 pointsAlex's TWS dinner (Noizé, London): Deep dark red. The intense purity is striking, as is the quality and sweetness of the fruit. It's incredibly tasty, with lashings of sophisticated black cherry and cassis that are as smooth as the proverbial. Far too easy to drink even at this late stage of the evening. It's funny, on the face of it this seems to have many of the same elements as the Faugeres but somehow this just works better as a package. Excellent. |

5/11/2024 - Boudica Likes this wine: 93 pointsPale ruby-violet , transparent, clear. Slightly subdued nose of dusty fennel seed, iodine. Bright acid, medium plus intensity of flavours with very sweet, almost liqueured purple fruit, mulberries, rosy-raspberry jam of Turkish Delight and dark chocolate finish. Fine sand-paper tannins, long finish, very well balanced. Delicious wine, easy to drink, with excellent structure - nothing is out off place. Very happy to have some more in the cellar. |

5/6/2024 - sjw_11 wrote: 94 pointsI had this at a casual dinner so no formal notes but this was in a lovely place, with a very elegant, classic Eden Valley fruit profile with plush tannins and good freshness remaining. Totally drinkable now, it may still improve slightly but should at any rate hold for quite a few years to come. |

5/4/2024 - colinscellar Likes this wine: 95 pointsTasted after 2021 Tappa Pass and 2013 Mount Edelstone and the quality jump is immediately noticeable. Ripe blackberry aromas rise out of the glass. Blackberry, plum and cherry on the palate with vanilla and a hint of licorice. It's a concentrated, powerful wine with a big, plush mouthfeel. I'd very happily drink a lot of this if I could afford it. |

5/3/2024 - colinscellar Likes this wine: 91 pointsBig floral nose with sweet honeysuckle and lime is a misdirection and the palate is mouthpuckeringly bone dry. Flinty mineral and lime juice. Almost hard to drink at the moment with that searing acid but I think it's got a great future. |

2/20/2023 - rikipedia Likes this wine: 90 pointsDeep ruby with garnet edges suggesting some maturity. The aromas unfold with a bounty of stewed fruits: sweet jam, damson, cassis and blueberries. Intense and rather inviting, a touch of menthol adds a refreshing edge - classic Oz. Subtle hints of spice, vanilla, red flowers and a whisper of orange peel add complexity and appeal. |

4/25/2024 - Cremuel Likes this wine: 91 pointsBob's cellar. Dark red, no bricking at all. Blackberry, damson, red earth and ironstone nose, sweet and still has a youthful air. Eucalyptus and tannic opening, still dry, fruit is reticent on PnP basis. Powerful and big compared to the Latour, certainly not the same level of sophistication. Rich and spicy. |

4/17/2024 - Jeremy Holmes wrote: NRBottles donated from the Henschke cellars. Complex aromatics of wild sage and other herbs, smoke, cassis, blueberry and violets. The palate is supple and accessible, yet so deep and detailed. It has wonderful texture and build and the finish fans out and closes with fruit and menthol. |
