4/8/2024 - remyworldpeace wrote: 89 pointsCherry and recurrent on nose, with some slight touches of cream. On the palate some red fruit remaining along with a touch of oak and graphite tertiary flavours. Decent acidic balance but fairly simple and thin in flavour. It's holding up well for a 24 year old wine but a lot less going on vs the 1995 Pavillion Rouge tasted alongside. |

7/27/2023 - chatters wrote: NRCoravin fun - St Estephe and randoms (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. A fair heft of glossy oak sits over pretty blackcurrant, berry and plum fruit, lending sweet spice and a tiny caramel note. On the palate it's quite concentrated dark hued fruits, backed by plenty of okay flavours, tannins are woody and drying and there is a fair lick of alcohol warmth on the finish. it's a bit shouty, time should help. |

9/16/2022 - Toasty Oak Likes this wine: 89 pointsPop and pour. A rather concentrated wine with a rich, expressive nose. Cassis and blackberry abound, meadow mint pops up then I got a layer of mushroom, cigar box and spice cake. The earthy flavors are more apparent on the palate, but fruit still dominates. The wine is quite fresh and the tannins well-managed–velvety with a delayed grip. Drinking well, now and no signs of decline. |

8/12/2022 - FransS wrote: 93 pointsLe Lavandou/Bormes 2022-Summer holidays: I think it is the first Pouget I've tasted an it is an impressive one. Deep dark, concentrated black fruit, well dosed wood and vanilla, a smooth and (again the word) concentrated midtaste, fleshy and lvely with a very well balanced citrus backbone, Than come the very ripe tannins in a lasting and balanced aftertaste. The same impression the wine had the following two days. |

5/10/2022 - Julian Marshall Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis has come on very well indeed. Still a bit tight and tannic on opening so I decanted it for four hours, which greatly helped. Redcurrants, blackberry and leather on the nose, then quite a big, powerful mouthful of spicy blackberry and dark cherry, still a little tannic, but this gives it a good grip and structure. Very compelling, in that the style is more Pauillac than Margaux, up until the finish which has that inimitable dusty elegance only Margaux can deliver. |
