Juicy, vibrant, forward, and fresh, the blackberries, strawberries, and currants, with their licorice, and tobacco edge are ripe, chewy, and vibrant. This is one of those top value Left Bank wines with character that sell for a song. Drink from 2027-2038. 90-92 Pts.

88-90 Punkte.

Unusual to find a well aged Medoc available by the glass - at Restaurant Didon on Rue du Dragon. C.Aubell has it on the nose.

With a hint of cinnamon clove to the nose. That sense of warm spices follow through on the mid palate, and then on through to the finish as well. So tastes a little bit chipped all-in. Black forest cake on the finish. Ahh, not chipped, in barrel.

Cocoa, cherry, plum, sweet pipe tobacco, and sage. The fruit is very sweet, and the tannins soft, but there is enough acidity to provide balance. Medium length. Drinks well already, but will keep well until 2035+.

Plums, tobacco and cherries make their presence known from the start. The wine is open, forward, medium-bodied, bright, and chewy, with a touch of green olives, dusty cherries and mint that show in the finish. Drink from 2024-2033.

I tried to think back as far as I can, but I don't remember drinking wine so 'loaded' with black chocolate and black coffee. No, it's not Saint Emilion. It's Haut-Medoc! After a few sips, I immediately searched the Internet for information about the composition of this wine, although I was sure that there was a lot of M, CF and PV.
Yes! More M than CS!
47% M, 44% CS, 6% CF, 3% PV
What else do we have in this delicious juice? Blackcurrant ( so nice!), vanilla ( great for balance), ripe red cherry.
Lively acidity and soft, but still grippy tannins. Very nice fruity finish with some spice ( it could be much more!)
Highly drinkable now!
It's hard to imagine someone who wouldn't like it.
And remember - it's just Cru Bourgeois.
21€ for an excellent 2009 vintage, which got 99 points according to the WA Vintage.
Extraordinary. Early maturing and accessible.
Vinous - 92
WE - 90
Jeff Leve - 85 😱🤔

D+0h: a tiny bit of deposit in the filter and also in the bottle, smells of blackberry and raspberry D+3,5h: purple red colour, smells of blackberry, violets and eucalyptus, has a little bit of residual sugar, so not completely dry, smooth in the mouth, medium body, in the mouth blackberry, violets and raspberry, in the aftertaste violets, blackberry and a little bit of acidity, good length (30 sec), good red wine, yet reminds me more of a Rioja than a Bordeaux, it’s kind of un-Bordeaux-like. With Bordeaux of that particular bottle age (six years) I would have expected aromas of forest floor or barnyard instead.

Had two bottles at two consecutive days. The first was clearly mature, medium bodied and surprisingly good. The second seemed to be a bit too young. Rating for the first bottle. Will wait a bit with my other bottles.

This is very beautiful classic claret, rich and opulent, with some complexity. But note: it requires at least four hours airing in the decanter. Six is even better. Drunk too soon, it is overwhelmingly tannic. I expect it will be long lived.

Smells of black plums, black currant, light tobacco, some leather and blackberry. Still fresh fruity taste of black fruit with good concentration and a long fruity and a light mature finish. Aired for 1-2 hours, can preferably do longer. Still high on fruit with easy maturing and strong tannins, but many years of cellaring will do this wine (and yourself) a favour.

Wow. Better each time I drink this overperforming wine. Totally consistent with my last note but even better. Super-perfumed, high -pitched, cool, and in perfect balance. Peak in 2 years. Will be great for eight.

N. Typical, leather, dark fruits (cooked partly), earthy notes of soil in an old forest, undergrowth, some green notes, pipe tobacco with a lot of dark flavors

T. A bit on the sweet side as the acid is missing, charcoal, dusty cellar, fermented fruits, rotting flowers

Interesting but not balanced, living dead infants ;)

A delicious wine, in an ugly murky appearance. This is now something you drink without looking at. May I suggest plastic cups? But boy oh boy, the wine is stills delicious. So earthy, fruit rich, and extremely long and tannic. I would argue that the murkiness comes from the abundant acidity in this wine. Keeps things going, fresh, and ugly. DRINK!

(Decanted for one hour)
Deep red colour still showing a blue red rim with a maturing nose showing leather, sous bois and fruity touch of blackberries. Smoothing tannins on the palette focused on primary fruit and opening up with a pleasant finish showing dried herbs.
(Best 2016-2026)
