2020 Aubert Pinot Noir Russian RiverRussian River Valley more |
4/30/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: NRThese Aubert Pinots are noticeably Strawberry, versus many other Pinot noirs I enjoy (Oregon, burgundy, even Santa Rita hills) show the cherry or dark cherry style profile. |

2017 Dragonette Cellars Pinot Noir Radian VineyardSta. Rita Hills more |
4/27/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: NRRadiant for the Radian vineyard! Powerful aromatics, Sta Rita hills crunch red fruits with some salty mustardy power. Super savory, a little richness to go with plenty of acidity makes this shine. Nice bottle 👍👍 |

4/23/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 90 pointsReally hitting the tropical notes, a big white wine, quite round. 14.2% alcohol and certainly a full bodied and tasty wine. Powerful but not overdone. |

2021 Cameron Pinot Noir Dundee Hillsmore |
4/22/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 92 pointsAmazing value, great village level Dundee hills pinot. Had this next to a Thomas and this was a bit more simple and not quite as elevated, but still quite good. Earthy, dried cherry, maybe red rasberry as others noted, some orange peel. nice smooth easy finish that lingers for a bit. |

2021 Kobayashi Winery Cabernet FrancColumbia Valley more |
4/15/2024 - Wine G Does not like this wine: NRI have to say after making several attempts over the course of a couple days, I didnt love this wine. Aromatically it is very bordeaux-esq... not as sweet and new world on the nose, but this was not a bad thing. What I found off was the palate and astringent and highly tannicness and lacking a fruitful balance. on its 2nd day I did open up a st estephe bordeaux wine that was way more fruitful by comparison, and way better. For the price point I felt disappointed, whilst I have enjoyed a Kobayashi Syrah. Maybe it was just this bottle. |

2021 Faethm / Fingers Crossed Syrah Unanswered PrayersCalifornia more |
3/26/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 96 pointsAn ideal, rich, hedonistic expression of Syrah, all while maintaining a level of balance while walking the line of being overly massive. beautiful dark purple to the eye. The first day was still a bit tight and alcoholic, but by day 2, even 3, and best on day 4 this was pure creamy bliss with some chocolate and black pepper notes, classic Syrah darker berries and with a touch of quality oak. This wine surely has a long life head considering day 4 was the best yet. 96-98 level wine |

2018 Beta Cabernet Sauvignon MausMoon Mountain District more |
3/2/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: NRA light and epiphany type wine that new world cabs can be made in quite light and aromatic expressions (vs rich and opulent and high alcohol). I blind tricked my dad into thinking the Marquis calon segur was the new world option. This is 13.7% and I’m getting strawberry and floral notes of violets, orange blossoms, maybe even roses. A light and sweet yet deep cassis and some blue fruit to compliment the strawberry. Outstanding stuff !! 7 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

2020 Sylvie Esmonin (Michel et Fille) Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée Vieilles VignesPinot Noir more |
3/2/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 92 pointsWow this has quite powerfully earthy notes, rubber and bacon on the nose, but it’s rich and decadent all the while. The fruit is hiding away in there, but I know it’s there. Big wine here that should last quite some time. |

2020 Carhartt Vineyard GrenacheSanta Ynez Valley more |
2/23/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 90 pointsI could not Disagree more with Pintag below. This grenache is a light expression version of the grenache varietal (totally opposite from a big Paso grenache or Alban or Finger crossed, as comparisons), very aromatic, with a bit of that sweet rasberry grenache. More acid driven and a lighter wine that is very good with food. |

2021 Faethm / Fingers Crossed Grenache Unanswered PrayersCalifornia more |
2/19/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 98 pointsHad to take an early look at the Grenache after letting the bottles rest a few weeks upon receipt. A truly glorious grenache, that sweet (deep in this case) rasberry grenache note that walks the line between an aromatic pinot and a monster new world sweet cabernet. Rasberries and chocolate. Definitely some cinnamon and candy-ish deliciousness. This is a strong elixer but feels quite balanced while you drink it. Long finish. Can't imagine a better expression for the varietal. 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

2020 Château Léoville PoyferréSt. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend more |
2/5/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 94 pointsEarly note here… primary and quite luxurious, savory dark fruit straight away on the palate. While not overly giving out the shoot on the nose I can get whiffs of the Quality perfume… it comes and goes. Surely it is coiled up |

2019 Twomey Pinot Noir Russian River Valleymore |
1/15/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 90 pointsSolid, as expected very much russian river and right down the middle. Nothing overly noteworthy, but if you are looking for a relatively juicy russian river pinot that's not breaking the bank, this could fit the bill. Especially if found on a discount or auction deal. |

2019 Radio-Coteau Pinot Noir La NeblinaSonoma Coast more |
1/11/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 90 pointsFirst time with this producer, a lighter expression of Sonoma coast Pinot noir coming in 13.2% alc. some vegetal notes and funk initially which somewhat blew off after an hour or so of air, still a bit present but a lot of juicy fruit like some cranberry and tart cherry. Nice acidity, juicy, nice savory finish. Seems more old world in style to some extent. Good stuff |

1/5/2024 - Wine G Likes this wine: 96 pointsHoly smokes, I don’t want to call this a white burgundy epiphany, but this is sparklingly white and light gold youthfulness gorgeous to my eye… on the nose that sexy matchstick thing but also lemon zest fruity, white flowery spicy nose… and the palate, a nice crisp slightly creamy texture, nice and long, WOW. I’m stoked and impressed. |

2021 Thomas Pinot Noir Dundee Hillsmore |
12/18/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis is an ideal expression of dundee hills Pinot noir, and another great vintage from JT. Perennially one of my favorite wines period, pure black cherry, nice orange spice, an earth quality and certainly what feels to be some high quality oak. Approachable now, but certainly will last a long time when stored properly. My 95 is the floor rating, certainly upside there 95+ !! |

12/2/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 95 pointsPulled the cork on this sucker early as I was lucky enough to get 4 bottles of this allocated, and Ketan the man himself noted this vintage is particularly approachable now/young…. So what the Heck |

11/14/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 96 pointsWow , this is so delicious and aromatic, quite a light expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. Next to a Lynxh Bages ( albeit 2018 but don’t get me wrong the Bages was excellent in-its own right), this beta cab is more aromatic, less alcoholic and equally savory on the palate. In a good sense the Beta wine did Not have any of that strong licorice note on the nose. Quite a good wine again , thanks Ketan! 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (5) |

11/7/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 92 pointsOn day 1 (pulled cork to breathe 3-4 hours before tasting) This is a full throttle, rich and hedonistic expression of Grenache. I’m wondering how much, if any , Syrah or Mourvèdre is blended in. Tastes like something... |

2018 Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon EstateSanta Cruz Mountains more |
10/28/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 89 pointsExcellent for the price, it’s like a rich Bordeaux. If I was drinking this blind I could guess a more opulent style Bordeaux , it is not overdone by any means. Hitting the spot especially in the $50 range |

2016 Château Léoville PoyferréSt. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend more |
10/18/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 96 pointsSweet, oh sweet oak. Very much Poyferre , Crushed cherry liqueur and touch of vanilla in the glass. A French silver oak with some oomph. The tannins are so drying, and the finish pretty long. Love this wine, a great vintage too. |

2018 Saxum Terry Hoage VineyardPaso Robles Red Rhone Blend more |
10/14/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 90 pointsTasty gs blend from paso, clearly well made and balanced despite the 15.7% Alc. nice dark colors, is see through, rich but not overtly extracted. Shows typical flavor profile of Syrah and Grenache, nice length on the finish. I’m not on the Saxum list nor have drank much Saxum, and don’t get me wrong this is a good wine, but I don’t see the wait list or $100+ entry price tag. There is quite a plethora of good central coast Syrah bottles in the $30-40 range that I feel a wine should really be special or a step above to be fetching $100+ per. |

2019 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru VaudésirChardonnay more |
10/4/2023 - Wine G Likes this wine: 94 pointsWow I’m really impressed with the staying power of this bottle. I opened this on Sep.22 or 23, had a glass or 2, and put the cork back and In The fridge. Then I got flu/cold… sickness took a full week to resolve, fast forward today Oct 4 , 2 full weeks later , and this wine is singing! Very classic clean mineral chardonnay nose showing some tropical notes. Fairly full bodied and concentrated , a rich and quality Chablis, certainly a Buy! Do you find this review helpful?
