3/27/2024 - MicklethePickle Likes this wine: 92 pointsLeft this open for 5 days—and it is still very nice! Solid dark ruby. Pretty nose, with dark cherries and a bit of bell pepper that was more apparent on day 1, when I opened it for Bruce E. Before we left for a Sonoma trip. Fine and rich, regal fruit in the mouth. I dare say this will last for a long, long time. 5-12-16-9: 92/100. |

3/1/2024 - watcheslover Likes this wine: 97 pointsFabulous!!! By far, the best Joguet ever made and also the greatest Loire rouge I have drunk in 35 years of tasting. The 2019 Chêne Vert is almost as exceptional. |

12/31/2023 - JonathanP wrote: 91 pointsFour hour decant. While still a bit tight, this started to open nicely and and reveal bright red fruits, grilled capsicum, earthy notes and some tobacco-like herbs. Fine acidity and minerality is accompanied with moderate tannins that are starting to resolve. Drink after a good decant or hold. |

12/25/2023 - Nutty08 Likes this wine: 94 pointsMan this was terrific. Needed a couple hours in the decanter to open up. Fleshy and ripe, with rather mild tannins at this stage. Has a black fruit profile with herbal tobacco notes mixed in adding complexity. Lengthy finish. Really enjoyable at this stage and quite complex with elegance and balance. |

12/24/2023 - Wine Spam wrote: 94 pointsDefinitely young, but starting to open. Strong red fruit characters, starts to feel almost plush, but then the strong tannins and moderate acidity come around. Finishes long. This should significantly improve given the density of fruit here. |

12/22/2023 - melvinyeowq wrote: 92 pointsFrench but no Burgundy/Bordeaux theme: My contribution. Everyone guessed northern Rhone for this, but not sure if I understood why. Didn’t have any Loire greenness despite the weaker vintage, but was built more like a traditional Bordeaux from a more classic vintage with some leafy herbal notes. Pleasurable and drinking at peak now. |

7/20/2023 - NickA Likes this wine: 94 pointsLoire Wines of North London (Must & Lees): Really graphitey and gorgeously savoury nose, which seemed à point. More graphite on the palate, plus tobacco and blackcurrant leaf, deep and long with attractive powdery tannins. A glorious wine, caught at the right time to enjoy some complexity but also plenty of energy. |

8/10/2023 - Puteljen! Likes this wine: 91 pointsDark, tart fruit, a good backbone with some tannin and a slightly green herbaceousness. Iron filings and crushed granite. Clean and bright despite the intensity of the fruit. No funk or barnyard in sight. Good lenght. Nice to drink now but will hold and might improve. |

8/10/2023 - Julian Marshall Likes this wine: 90 pointsNot as good as a couple of years ago, which surprised me - perhaps a bad patch or a bad bottle. The fruit is still there but on the wane, so it tastes a little thinner than before. Still very good, but probably one to check in on if you have any. |

7/25/2023 - vintage_whine wrote: NRneeds a good 8 hours of air. thinner in body. oak is fully integrated. pomegranite red apple and red cherry at first, simple and lean. with air the body grows and theres a fine balance and a restraint that is a completely different animal than rougeard. but i think this defines the type of finessed cab franc that needs nothing flashy. a pure expression of terroir |

7/20/2023 - Jamieson12o Likes this wine: 95 pointsTWS North London; Loire at Must & Lees (Must & Lees, N1): Amazing colour. Described as ‘just about ready’. Super ripe violet/blackberry/plumb nose, with a really pure seam of dominant blackcurrants when tasting. Super perfumed. Bracing acidity and medium tannins; it feels like this easily has another decade in the tank. Bit of a revelation for me - I absolutely loved this. |

7/20/2023 - Joshvoulters wrote: 93 pointsTWS North London - Loire (Must & Lees, N1): Fantastic wine. Beautifully resolved and balanced with all the Cab Franc hallmarks present and correct with a real degree of polish. Intensely perfumed with violets and dark but fresh fruit, graphite, pickled green chilli, a hint of spice. The beauty of it is that nothing is too obvious or overblown - it all just works in harmony. Wonderful concentration on the palate, resolved tannins and a little tug of grip from the tannins. Slightly chalky texture and great persistence. Yum. |

7/2/2023 - vespasian Likes this wine: 94 pointsQuite a serious nose here, very tightly wound with dense fruit, but for me still a classic Chinon in the sense that despite the ripeness of 2015, there is a dark mineral element at play and a cool freshness running through things; delicious, classy fruit on the palate with tannins fully resolved - depending on how you like your wine, this could be cellared further but for our tastes its in a good place right now. Excellent. |

5/31/2023 - MuddyBoots wrote: NRMid red. Soft fruited aromatics - red berries and green herbs. Some gentle sweetness on the palate. Complex still, and there is good depth to the fruit, which richened up in the glass and became more juicy. Some tannic dryness on the end. This is very good, if not inspiring, and the fruit is just starting to fade a little. Likely better five years ago. Bought on release. |

5/11/2023 - Manuaia Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis wind really turned the corner from the last time I had it a couple years ago. I don’t think I would pick chinon but more a really good New World cab Franc. 1 hour in and its really starting to sing. Black cherry, red bell pepper still significant tannin. I have a few bottles left. It’ll be wonderful to taste in three or four more years. I’m drinking half the bottle tonight the other half tomorrow. |
